We’re on a mission to do what some say is impossible: Eliminate Rape Culture.

Our Story.

Hi, my name is Lucrezia, and I am the Founder & CEO of VESTA. I am on a mission to harness the power of community and technology to lower the barriers to reporting, and to increase and equalize access to justice for survivors.

My vision is that by ensuring individuals have agency, choice and equal treatment under the law, systemic change can and will occur. Prior to founding Vesta SIT, I was an Executive in a Fortune 500 financial services company, but my social entrepreneurship journey began in 2013, when I was nominated and selected to be an Executive-In-Residence of the Ashoka Foundation.

In 2016, a couple of years after returning to Canada from Europe, I couldn’t help but notice a shift in public discourse around gender-based violence. I was shocked at the prevalence of rape culture as high-profile cases in the workplace, in the media and on college campuses began to shed light on systemic issues affecting millions of people. Out of this momentum, my Vesta journey began.

VESTA Social Innovation Technologies was created in response to the global movement.

I spent the next few years conducting research, seeking partners and collaborators, and putting together a world class team to get a holistic view of the problem: issues faced by survivors when they search for help and the challenges faced by those tasked to provide help. The result of which is a trauma-informed, alternative solution that aims to provide survivors with pathways to healing, to reporting and to justice.

Research and Development

We build research-based technology.

Forget the hype and the gimmicks. How do we make an impact and drive real change? How do we help survivors, our communities and improve our systems? We collaborate with academic institutions and researchers to investigate the intersection of gender based violence and technology to create tools that work for everyone.
